Assembly Members speak out: Read their blogs & watch the landmark debate

On Wednesday 28th November, four Assembly Members led a groundbreaking debate about mental health in the National Assembly for Wales. Eluned Parrott AM, David Melding AM, Llyr Huws Gruffydd AM and Ken Skates AM all spoke about their experiences of mental ill health and the impact that stigma and discrimination can have on people’s lives and their recovery.

The debate took place just hours after a series of blogs, written by each of the four Assembly Members, were published on the Time To Change Wales website. Each AM wrote about their experiences as part of the campaign to tackle the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems.

They received widespread support, admiration and respect from fellow Assembly Members and members of the public, who praised their courage in speaking out on such a public platform.
